Guest lecture series

guest lectureThe ANU College of Asia and the Pacific runs a guest lecture series for local high schools and colleges.  Academics and PhD students are available for these lectures which are offered at no cost to the high school or college. Guest lectures may be held on ANU campus or at schools within the ACT region.

School teachers can choose the content and topic for the lecture which can  cover a wide range of issues and countries in the Asia Pacific region. Our academic will then work with the teacher to ensure the content is relevant and timely for their class. In the past topics have included;

  • Economics in developing countries
  • Politics in Asia and the Pacific
  • Global security issues
  • Japanese whaling
  • Indonesian hip hop
  • Chinese gardens
  • Islamic radicalism
  • Japan's education system
  • Gender and caste in India
  • Japanese internment in Australia during World War II
  • Japanese language
  • The Korean War
  • Korean K Pop
